Depression, while not as extensive as anxiety, often accompanies it and can significantly contribute to anxiety.


Emotional Symptoms:

  • Persistent sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness

  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed

  • Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt

  • Irritability or frustration, even over small matters

  • Anxiety or restlessness


Cognitive Symptoms:

  • Difficulty concentrating, thinking, or making decisions

  • Trouble remembering things

  • Frequent thoughts of death or suicide


Physical Symptoms:

  • Fatigue or low energy, even after rest

  • Changes in appetite (eating too much or too little)

  • Unexplained aches and pains

  • Sleep problems (insomnia or sleeping too much)

  • Slowed movements or speech


Behavioral Symptoms:

  • Social withdrawal or isolation

  • Neglecting responsibilities or personal hygiene

  • Substance misuse (alcohol or drugs) as a coping mechanism
